First, we appreciate your prayers as so many of you are keeping up with us during this part of the journey.  Mom is scheduled for her surgery this Friday.  She is ready “to be on the other side of this thing”, meaning the healing and active side of it all.  There will be  samples sent to pathology that will determine whether chemo will be necessary and if so, what kind.  She will be at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS, at 6 a.m. and will go from there.

Patty’s dad had his oncologist checkup today and “the monster” has returned.  The tumor is very slight but was detected by the doctor.  She (the oncologist) doesn’t want to start treatments back just yet because of his recent other health battles.  He has another appointment in 6 weeks unless the tumor (it can be felt in his neck) increases in size dramatically in which case he will call for an earlier time.
