Home Again

It was 1000 miles in 3 days but a good trip as we ministered to the nice crowd at the first Kid’s Rally ever done at Fair River Baptist, Brookhaven.
We woke Sunday and headed to Yazoo City to help out our parents and layover before heading to Pickwick Dam, TN, for the Associational banquet. The banquet went well. Over 120 pastors, deacons, and wives enjoyed good food and fellowship.
We headed home this morning and arrived this afternoon. Now to rest up and begin preparation for the concert Sunday night in nearby Elba, AL.
Thanks for the prayers!

Kid’s Night, Brookhaven, MS

It was a good night. Lots of folks showed up and the staff was very excited at the turnout. The church, although growing, still has a “small church” mentality that the pastor and staff are trying to grow out of and this was a part of that application.

The people have not had a special emphasis on kids and did not know what to expect so it was a good night and the staff told me of a number of positive comments so my prayer is the ministry can “springboard” off this success and move forward from there.

Tomorrow we will head to Yazoo City to check in on parents, spend the night, then drive up to Pickwick Dam, TN, for an Associational Pastor’s/ Deacon’s and wives banquet.

Thank you for your continued prayers for strength and safety in travel.
Blessings,
John

Brookhaven Kids Rally

We are heading out this morning for Fair River Baptist Church on the outskirts of Brookhaven, MS. We’ve been asked to conduct a kids “One Night Crusade that will involve several churches.
When I talked with the Children’s Pastor, he had no idea how many to expect. We’ll do the same program whether there are 50 or 500 but it’s always fun when there is a large crowd.
Although the desire of the church is a “crusade”, I will have to wait until I get a feeling of the crowd. They have invited all ages and I don’t do invitations for younger children.
Whatever the case, I will be giving the gospel, planting seeds, throughout and would appreciate your prayers. The program begins at 5 p.m.

Blessings,
John

Luncheon

It’s FBC here in Enterprise for the monthly “Keenagers” senior adult luncheon today. We are heading over pretty soon so we can set up without folks around then we’ll head home, change clothes and be there for lunch at 11:30. The program will follow lunch.

Thanks for the prayers!
John

Wednesday, Brantley

A good closing night and the people were challenged by Bro. Michael to “be the one used by God to intersect with a lost person”. To be used by Him to make an impact in another life.
There was a profession of faith tonight that actually happened last night at home as a little guy talked with mom and dad before he went to bed. He made his decision public tonight.
The host pastor was pleased with the services in every aspect. We pray now that the church moves forward and that God does some new and exciting things with this faithful group.
Thanks for the prayers.
John

Tuesday, Brantley

A really good night tonight as the crowd was the largest of the revival. The crowd has grown each service and we are grateful. God has used my “friends” to really peak the interest of the kids and the “kids at heart” and the young families have really responded which is exactly what we’ve desired. Bro. Michael is preaching to the family this week and many families came forward during the invitation proclaiming that “Jesus was going to be first in their home”.
It was a real blessing seeing the response. We’ll wrap things up tomorrow night so pray for a strong close.

In the meantime, Patty arrived safely in Yazoo City to minister to her parents. Thank you for the prayers on her behalf.
Blessings,
John

Monday, Brantley

Hi friends. Thank you for checking in and I’m sorry that there wasn’t an update last night. We had a church wide dinner last night before the service then the service began at 6:30.
The choir has started each service and have been a blessing. They are small in number but do a really good job.
Sparky made an appearance and that’s always a crowd favorite then Pastor Michael spoke on having the Bible read and studied in the home as individuals and as families.
It was a good service. There was a lack of public movement at the close of the service but God’s Word will not return void so we hold to that fact.
Today, Patty has left to drive to Yazoo City for parents doctor’s appointments so it will be just Bro. Michael and me driving to Brantley tonight.
Thank you for the continued prayers.
Blessings,
John

Sunday, Brantley

Good day in the Lord, thanks for the prayers. We picked up Bro. Michael this morning and headed over to Mt. Zion. The service went well but there was no response during the invitation although the people were very gracious. After a wonderful meal with the host pastor and family, we headed home.
At 5 p.m. we began the 45 min. trip back to the church to ready ourselves for the 6:30 service. It was another good service and we had some response during the invitation as families were encouraged to pray together.
Tomorrow we will go back over around 4:45 to be there for dinner at the church. Pray for Mt. Zion Baptist Church, that God will have His will and way.

Blessings,
John

Revival, Brantley, AL

It’s an exciting day as we head to Brantley, AL, and Mt. Zion Baptist Church to begin revival services. With the kid’s camps and VBS’s all complete we shift gears a bit to family and adult ministry.
Because of the church being 45 min. from us, we will commute and be able to sleep in our own beds. Something that doesn’t happen often as you can imagine. Also, my pastor, Bro. Michael Mynatt is doing the preaching. This will enable him to see our ministry and see, for the first time, what we do in other churches.
Pray, as we focus on “The Family”, that lives will be changed and obedient to the leadership of the Lord.
This meeting goes through Wednesday night.
Blessings,
John

Home

Whew! What a road trip and it’s good to be home. I was very, very far removed from civilization in the camps I just finished and was unable to get any info to you. I appreciate you checking in and I apologize for the delay.

In Soddy Daisy, TN, we saw 3 kids come to Christ there and several other recommitments. We finished on Thursday night with family night and had a great crowd. The kids did a presentation, the camp director shared and then I used one of my “friends” to wrap things up. A great night.
Following that night I loaded up and drove to Cleveland, TN, to spend the night before heading out to Horns Creek Resort in Ocoee, TN, for a preteen camp combining FBC Roanoke, VA, and Whitesburg Baptist out of Huntsville, AL. God really moved and many came to know Him as Lord and Savior. We went Friday through Monday and I got home this afternoon.
Thank you for your prayers as I continue the work and begin prep work for the upcoming revival meeting in Brantley, AL.
Blessings,
john
