Stage 1, Virginia

It was quite a day. Put in a long one as we pulled out of Enterprise around 8:15 a.m. and decided that we must get beyond Charlotte, NC, in order to make the next days journey on time. We are due at the camp in Montebello, VA, to set up and be ready for the opening introductions at 1 p.m.
As we traveled we felt pretty good physically, stopping every 2 or so hours to stretch and walk around for 10 or so minutes. This seemed to really help. We drove around 620 miles or so. We are about 1 1/2 hours from the camp at this point as best we can figure. We have stopped for the night and will pull out between 9 and 9:30 making it easy to the camp tomorrow.
Thanks for the prayers. We look for exciting things. The church is taking 96 preteens to camp this year.

Blessings,
John

A Busy Day

A day of prep was the motto. It began with running my truck and trailer down to my mechanic to get some work done on it including bearings packed, a new safety chain and new shocks. It’s all good now. Then came yard work! ARRRRRGGG, but I just had to get it done before it reached the high temp today which was just crazy.
Following that came a little work for the church that I did at the house while recovering from the yard (ha ha) then I finished up work for this weekends camp.
We are heading out early in the morning for Montebello, VA, just north of Roanoke where I will be camp pastor for FBC, Roanoke’s kid’s camp. Looking forward to what God will do. We will finish up on Sunday night and head home first thing Monday.
We’ll have choir practice here at the church on Wednesday soooooo, lots’ to do!
Keep the prayin’ going!
John

Magnificent Monday, Hillcrest

Wow, what a night! We got a glimpse of Glory at tonight’s service as Daniel Crews displayed his awesome vocal gifts and the choir was tremendous. Congregational worship was so special as people from all over the Enterprise, AL, area lifted hands, shed tears, and voiced their praise to the Lord.

I spent the better part of the day at Hillcrest today getting Christmas music together and preparing for the upcoming season when we begin choir rehearsals again…Wed, August 10 and Youth choir the 14th.
Thanks for the continued prayers,
John
