Finally Home

Fairly busy day at the office as I continue planning services, music, and rehearsals.
I had an extra rehearsal tonight for our Christmas program. Didn’t have quite as many choir members as I had hoped but it was still a good turnout and we got a nice bit accomplished.

Patty arrived home following her time in Ft. Lauderdale with a dying cousin who did go to be with the Lord during her visit.  She is exhausted and actually a bit sick. Lots of sinus and a little throat infection that we are hoping will clear a bit after some much needed rest.

Tomorrow the youth choir (we call Alpha Omega Praise) is singing in the mid week service. Then of course we’ll have regular choir rehearsal following the service.

Whew!  Anyway, things are very busy with much being accomplished and much more to do.  Thanks for keeping in touch with us and we certainly thank you for your prayers!

Blessings,
John

Glitches

Boy, it was just one of those days today. Too many glitches in the first service to even attempt to list. Suffice it to say, at least everything was ironed out for the 2nd (telecast) service. Got a report of our mission team in Ethiopia during the service via cell phone so that was cool.
Youth choir rehearsed this afternoon and I believe they are ready to sing Wednesday night. Awesome group of kids!
Afterwards I came home to, once again, put ice on my knee. Getting a little weary of the routine but it’s a process so it’s all good.
We’ll see what tomorrow holds!
Blessings,
John

Restful Rehab

As much as I really wanted to do some things around, I took Dr orders and just hung out, relaxing and watching football.
I know it’s best in the Long run but it sure is difficult right now?
I’ll be at the church bright and early for rehearsal and worship!
Have a great day in the Lord tomorrow!

No update from FL

Thanks for checking in. Patty arrived for her ministry opportunity in Ft. Lauderdale last night around 9:30 e.s.t.
The latest update on her cousin was resting but with a steady dropping blood pressure. I was praying that Dianne would come to long enough to recognize Patty but I have not gotten word of that happening.
I spent the day in the office finalizing Tuesday’s special Christmas rehearsal and Wednesday’s stuff.
Although the weather is fabulous and the golf course is calling, I just can’t get out on this knee yet. I hope it won’t be long. I just plan on resting a bit for now!
Sure appreciate your faithfulness in checking on us!
Blessings,
John

Busy Day

I got into the office early to begin work on the planning stages of our special choir rehearsal Tuesday night. We will spend an hour or so on the music for our special Christmas presentation. One song in particular, I had to re-score simply because of some of the voicing. Got it done around 4:45.
Around 2:15, a friend picked up Patty and drove her down to Panama City Airport so she could fly to Ft. Lauderdale and minister to her cousin, dying of cancer. Her cousin, Dianne, has been fighting for years. This is her 4th bout with the awful disease and looks to be her last. Dianne’s sister, Sharon, is totally exhausted as you can imagine, and Patty felt the need to go down and minister to her as much as possible during this difficult time. Lord willing, Patty will be flying back Tuesday. We’ll see what the Lord has planned.
My knee was fairly swollen following the full day yesterday and prayer meeting last night with choir rehearsal. I got home around 9:30 and put ice on it for about 40 minutes. A little stiff today but better as the day went on.
I’m planning on taking it a little easy tonight and looking for things to be even better tomorrow. I’ll continue my work of preparation and worship planning.
Thanks for your interest in us and this ministry! Sure appreciate the prayers!

Patty’s Birthday

This morning I was in the office getting things going after a long weekend as well as meeting with the pastor to coordinate our efforts in upcoming worship services.
Patty picked me up at noon (I haven’t been released by the Dr yet) and we headed to Dothan to spend the afternoon. A few pair of shoes later, we grabbed a bite for an early dinner and are back home for a quiet evening. Still enjoying this aspect of the Interim time. A quiet time evening at home.
I will have my surgery follow-up tomorrow morning then get back in the office for a busy day.
Blessings,
John

Lazy Day

It’s been a nice slow day today. After the busy day yesterday, I rested today, read some, and worked on next Sunday’s service.
I’ll head to the office first thing in the morning then Patty and I head to Dothan to celebrate her birthday!
Thanks for checking in,
John

Great Day at Hillcrest

A great day began early with rehearsal followed by 2 a.m. services with baptisms in both. After a brief afternoon we hosted the
TRUTH40 tour. They were very good as you would expect and the crowd enjoyed new songs as well as many old songs with a new flair.
Tomorrow we’ll take it easy at the house as my knee continues to heal. A little swollen after today’s actvities.
The Worship Pastor Search Committee reported today the had narrowed the search to the man they believe to be the one for our church so we are praying for His continued guidance.

Blessings,

Wedding AOK

Things went well today as I took it a little easy early on the headed to the church around 2 for the 3 p.m. wedding. I used the crutches, hopefully the last time and everything went well. The knee began to bother me just a bit by the end so we didn’t go to the reception but came on home and iced down.
Tomorrow I’ll be up at the church for a rehearsal at 8 a.m. TRUTH concert tomorrow evening will be a good but long day.
Thanks for checking in!

Wool whoooo, shower day!!

Got to finally get a shower, 2 days after surgery. Man, that was great! I’m still on crutches but not a lot of pain involved now so I’m grateful.
Tonight I will go to the wedding rehearsal tonight and will continue to take it slow and easy and do all I can to keep things moving in a positive direction.

Blessings,
John
