Getting a few things done

It’s been a good day as I sit here for basically the first time today. Sleeping in an extra hour was nice this morning and then as the day got started I decided to head to Dothan to knock out a couple of errands.
I got home after lunch and sat down to handle “the bills” so I could get everything in the mail tomorrow. A little online banking and a little check writing and we’re all set now. Following that I ran to Wal Mart really quickly to pick up some supplies and I’m ready, now, for the week ahead.
No new news since yesterday’s blog. I’ll be in touch,.

Sunday and New Years

Happy New Year, friends. It was a good weekend as some of my Auburn friends invited me over to watch the bowl game and since Auburn actually won, it was that much more fun. It was a late night, not because of the game but because of the fireworks. It seems a lot of people in my neighborhood really got in the mood to bring in the new year. Lots and lots of BOOM! Ha, well, I wasn’t the only one being kept up so that’s the way it is.
The services today were well attended and the music was wonderful as we kicked off a new year of ministry at Hillcrest.
This next Sunday our new prospective Worship Pastor will be coming in for the weekend, in view of a call so I will be taking some much needed time away and visiting my great friends in Mathews, LA, for the weekend. I’ll pull out first thing Thursday morning and drive back on Tuesday.
As you know, Patty is in Yazoo City for at least the month of January helping her dad go through is chemo treatments. He as had one and is doing well. During his last battle 1 1/2 years ago, it was 5 days after the first treatment that he got very sick and was hospitalized for a week or more. The treatment was given this past Tuesday and he is doing well right now. We appreciate your prayers as we continue the work.

Blessings,
John
